Galette des rois à l’école Montessori #2017
Vendredi 6 janvier 2017, les élèves de l’école Montessori Internationale de Bordeaux-Gradignan ont eu la chance de partager une délicieuse galette des rois. Chacun a adoré célébrer cette tradition à l’école. Un grand merci aux parents qui ont généreusement apporté ou fait de délicieuses galettes pour le plaisir des enfants ! Nous remercions également chaleureusement les éducatrices et assistantes qui ont permis à certaines classes de faire leur propre galette à ramener à la maison et déguster tous ensemble !

What a wonderful start to 2017
The children in Maternelle bleue had a fantastic start to 2017.
Thanks to my wonderful assistants, Christelle, Eve and Jeanne who planned a cooking class to get the new year started with a super fun activity.
The children sat and listened as we talked about all the ingredients that went into making our tasty treat. We spoke about almonds where they came from and how turn them into powder. I wonder if you can guess what we made?
The children then got to manipulate all the ingredients. The children took it in turns to roll, and cut out their pastry circles. They then got to weigh out the different ingredients before taking it in turns to mix the mixture.
The children waited patiently as they each took a turn to add the different ingredients. They all had a turn at mixing the mixture.
Then onto the fun stuff! They each took a spoonful of mixture and delicately placed it into their pastry circles. They then delicately placed the other pastry piece on top before decorating their masterpiece with lines with precision.
The cooking class was such a fun activity for the children, but also helped them learn patience, co ordination and practical skills.
The hardest part was waiting for our treats to cook!
The children got to take their tasty treat home to share (some I’m sure didn’t even make it out of the school!) What a yummy way to start this year!
