Experiment in the Montessori kindergarten class
Today the children in maternelle orange were keeping cool!
As a fun activity and keeping in theme with summer, we decided to hide some shells in blocks of ice so that the children could explore and develop their senses.
The children felt how cold the ice was against their faces, noses, fingers and cheeks. It was a fun moment with lots of giggles as you can see.
The amazing thing about this sensory activity is that it opens the door to so many wonderful learning opportunities such as imaginative play, language exploration, fine motor development for pre-writing skills, coordination, social interactions and so much more. The children were having fun, exploring but also learning at the same time.
Sensory play allows for many learning experiences, and the freedom to explore and discover the world around them.
Tomorrow we have prepared so many more hidden items for the children to discover whilst keeping cool, learning and having fun!
Have a great evening
